We were once again delighted to welcome geology undergraduate students from the University of Reims to one of our quarries.

This field trip allowed them to directly observe the various strata, understand their formation and evolution and analyse the composition of the rocks.

They also had the opportunity to discover some characteristic fossils of the quarry, the Rhynchonella. These Brachiopods, witnesses of the beginning of the Jurassic period, allow them to travel back in time and explore the geological history of our region.

This concrete and immersive experience familiarises the students with the methods of analysis and interpretation of geological data in the field.
